>>>A year in review 2022

Here we are again… time for a yearly review! My yearly wrap-ups have become a tradition around Jo Grist HQ - you can find 2021 here, and 2020 here. I love the opportunity to look back on the year that was, the lessons I’ve learned in my own business and shared through working with an incredible community of women doing wonderful things in business.

To state that 2022 has continued to be filled with navigating challenges in running a sustainable business is an understatement; staff shortages have impacted service based small businesses, add into the mix copious interest rate rises and the effects of inflation on cost-of-living expenses, the flow on has been across the board.  However, it is not all doom and gloom, news of a welcome boost to the economy is on the way with an influx of backpackers ready to hit our shores, read the article “summer is going to be big” here. Hopefully this is the beginning of many small businesses returning to a new norm.

As a holistic business coach, I specialize in working with women who are ready to scale their business and are in need of a reset to remove any roadblocks standing in their way.  I believe that businesses - particularly those of the one-woman show variety - are a living, dynamic entity and deserve a holistic approach, as do the powerhouse women behind the businesses.  My coaching work is all about the simple steps and building blocks to live with vibrance and have that vibrance influence every element of your life, including your business. The information I share has a similar holistic approach, first and foremost I start a new client with a  review or ‘health check’ of day to day activities.

A back to basics approach, after two years of unprecedented events, was explored in blog posts, and the cornerstones of running a business,  the concept of mismanaging your energy levels; where do you sit on your priority list? Leading on to gifting yourself quiet time to let creative ideas to surface. When the world is full of uncertainty, it makes sense to double down and be clear on what drives us. By making the unconscious conscious, we're empowered to change the things we can, and aware enough to let go of the things we can't.

No-one could predict the impact to the economy of the pandemic, however in all unprecedented times, it is the lessons learnt that can be the takeout to moving forward.  Now is a time to get back to basics, to let go of what is not serving you in your business and lifestyle.  A reset of the time, money and energy spent to continue to share your passion.

Goodness, even in the act of writing this post I’ve done a deep dive of my own, as I’ve read back over the content I shared over the course of this year.

Personally, it’s been a year of growth, not without its moments travelling solo, the mission to be empowered financially, spiritually and at soul level.  I invested in a course to build on my financial knowledge base, worked with two incredible digital mentors, grew my network and supported others in their entrepreneurial journey.

My fur-babies have grown into ‘teenagers’ requiring a heap of patience and strategies as their personalities develop, amazing what a bundle of mischievous fur can get away with!

Through all the highs and lows navigating life creep, I’ve been fortified and strengthened by my incredible circle of friends, colleagues, family and clients who inspire and motivate me every day, and for that, I’m truly grateful.

Wishing you a joyous festive season, happy holidays and a most prosperous and healthy New Year.

It’s a wrap, final days leading up to Christmas festivities and down time spent with family & friends …

I encourage you to take the time out to nourish your energy levels and apply a heap of self-care over the holidays to rest and rejuvenate mind, body and soul.
