>>>Bringing it home

It‘s hard to believe there are only three weeks remaining until we ring in a New Year.  Is it just me, or did the frenetic energy to get to the finish line start earlier this year? It has felt like we are already in Christmas week countdown! With so much still to complete on the to do list, including decking the halls with boughs of holly, not to mention sourcing a Christmas tree stand, but I digress; the focus is energy and flow to bring it home.  How?

Dull as it may sound to a creative, systems and structure with a solid plan to shine a spotlight on what really, really needs completing by year end is key to bringing it home and taking a well-earned break over the festive season.

To achieve this, focus daily on the #1 task that will give you the most leverage.  Let’s be honest, repeat after me “I will never be on top of my to do list” nor be at a point of ticking every box in your daily plan, be comfortable with that thought.  It is way better to focus on tasks that can be ranked in order of importance than running yourself ragged trying to do it all, leaving you feeling deflated and exhausted.  Not a state you would wish to be in at this pointy end of the year.

So let’s talk structure.  Start by reviewing your diary for the next 2+ weeks leading up to Christmas Eve.  Choose the top three tasks to finalise:

1. [give it an appropriate label in order of priority and importance]

2.

3.

Next, nominate a date you are going to complete the task by for accountability and momentum. Alternatively, you may wish to draw up three columns with the following headers:

  • What needs to be finalised in 2022.

  • What task can be outsourced, or enlist support in completing.

  • What can be carried forward to 2023?

What can you do to make things easier or unnecessary?

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to finish the year feeling empowered, so you can fully relax, enjoy the Christmas spirit with family and friends by being fully present without feeling the need to disappear for 2 hours to work on a project.  Sound familiar? On another note, is this the best time to be working at your strategic best to make short term and stretch decisions?

Subscriber First Name, we’re at the end of 2022 and this is the best time to start working on your 2023 goals. I know you’re tired, overwhelmed and looking forward to a well-deserved break. But before going away or signing off for the holidays, do yourself a favor by preparing your business for the next year.

The best way to prepare is to understand what strategies will be the most effective in 2023 and how you can start using them. So by the time 2023 begins, you’re all set to make the most of it. What do you want to do differently? What do you want to let go of?  What do you want to do more of in 2023?

As for any project, beginnings and endings are where I am in my element. Have you decided on a word for 2023 yet?

I get it, some people love it and some people hate it.

Past words that have surfaced for me were a reflection of where I was at in my business and where I set goals for the forthcoming year. For example; success, empowerment, becoming.  Same for you?

This is not a farewell from me for 2022, look out for a final signoff newsletter, my yearly wrap ups have become a tradition around Jo Grist HQ.

Until next, keep focused, apply a heap of self-care and enjoy the year end last of activities.

To your success…
